The Emerald Buddha in the royal temple Wat Phra Kaew is unique, and many Buddhists from all over the world flock to this place to pay homage to Buddha. As soon as you enter, you will be amazed by the colorful and oversized guards, the yaks and the gilded prangs. Three times a year, the king or his representative changes the garments of the Emerald Buddha, depending on the season. After that we will drive a bit by TukTuk and visit the temple Wat Po as the next highlight.

Grand Palace & Wat Phra Kaew

Before Bangkok the former fishing village became the capital of the kingdom, the opposite side of the river Thonburi was the capital. Rama I had the Grand Palace and the royal temple Wat Phra Kaeo built in 1782. Since the end of the 18th century, the kings of the Chakri dynasty have ruled here until today. Wat Phra Kaeo, with its multitude of impressive, glittering buildings, houses the Emerald Buddha in the ordination hall. Together with your guide you will see the temple complex with its finely crafted murals and thus get told some interesting stories.

Wat Pho the reclining Buddha

Continue by tuk tuk to Wat Pho with its 46-meter-long and about 15-meter-high reclining golden Buddha. On the soles are inlaid workers of mother of pearl, which represent the marks of the true Buddha. There are 4 large stupas in the temple, some of which contain Buddha relics or serve as final resting places. In the area of the temple there is also a massage school where the Thais are trained. The Hindu fertility statue Linga which is visited by many women who want to have a baby are also in this area.

Bangkok Wat Po

Flowers and spices market

After that, our journey continues on foot the short distance to "Pak Khlong Talad", the flower market. Also on the way there you will see many traditional street vendors. For more than a hundred years, flowers, fruits and vegetables of different varieties are advertised here, let yourself be enchanted by this variety of plants. Our tour guide will also let you in on the secrets of Thai cuisine and its spices. Of course, nothing stands in the way of tasting one or the other fruit. After Pak Khlong Talad we will go on our beautiful tour with a longtailboat in the canals of Thonburi.

Pak Klong Talad

The beautiful longtail boat tour in the canals of Thonburi

[Translate to English:] Klong Tour Bangkok

Experience a beautiful longtail boat tour in the canals of Thonburi, we do not drive the so "popular short tourist routes" but our own route of approx. 18 km length with approx. 90 minutes travel time, experience with us a time travel into a "different world".  Beautiful temples, typical old Thai huts, life at the Klong, fauna and flora. Storks, herons and monitor lizards cavort along the Klong and go hunting there. When we spot a monitor lizard, we stop if possible so that you can see it up close. From time to time you may see small boats offering goods in the klong. As the Klong used to be the waterway of the locals, many temples were built directly at the Klong so that they could reach them with the boats, many goods were transported via these waterways and the supply of the citizens was ensured.

Note Klong Tour Thonburi

Dear guests, please note that the piers in the Chao Praya River are all designed for large express boats and hotel shuttle boats. The traditional longtail boats are smaller and therefore there is a height difference to the pier that has to be overcome when boarding and disembarking. This can be up to approx. 50 - 80 cm. This problem is common to all operators operating in the Klongs.

We are not liable for any damage during the tour, if you cannot manage the height difference safely, there is the possibility to wait in the van for the other guests to come back from the Klong tour.

Wat Arun Temple of Dawn

One of the most beautiful and important temples in Thonburi is Wat Arun also called Temple of Dawn. The royal temple also called Temple of Dawn next to the old Grand Palace Wang Derm was used by King Taksin. The temple was initially only 16 meters high and was then raised to 67 meters. The central part of Wat Arun is the Phra Prang, four steep stairs on the sides connect a total of four levels, although only one staircase can be used for the ascent. The central Prang can be circled at the top and one has a beautiful view of Thonburi and Bangkok with the Chao Praya River. At the bottom are the four smaller prangs. Beautifully decorated with porcelain shards, it is one of the most visited temples in Thonburi. Unfortunately, due to the advanced time we can visit this only from the outside.

Tempel der Morgenröte Wat Arun

China Town

After the longtail boat has docked at the pier near China Town, we continue on foot. Look at the different building styles in the streets and alleys of modern architecture and old European style, mixed with old teak houses and modern architecture, they form this appealing and attractive environment of China Town. Immerse yourself in the part of the city where most of the Chinese have settled and contributed significantly to the rise of the city with their trade of goods of various kinds. Big streets like Yaowarat Road and small alleys like Soi Wanit, the famous Sampheng Plaza Market or Talad Gao are the highlights of China Town. Soups, ducks, swallow's nests and "millennial eggs" are offered here for purchase and enjoyment.  Here we will have our dinner and you will have the opportunity to try different dishes.

ASIATIQUE the Riverfront

ASIATIQUE the Riverfront is the  night market on the Chao Praya River. The market offers not only international food but also many small shops where you can buy either clothing or accessories. Especially the promenade directly at the river with its sculptures are a magnet for many guests. Take a ride on the giant bike that shows you Bangkok from above in its glow of lights.

Here you also have the opportunity to buy souvenirs before returning to Laem Chabang.

The guide will brief you on the area and meet you at the central point at the tower for departure.
