After our guide has picked you up we can start the tour reliably and safely.

Mangrove area

After our guide has picked you up, we can start the tour reliably and safely. Our trip goes south from Bangkok to the Samut Songkhram province to Amphawa. Taking into account the tide (tides), we head into the mangrove area. We take a longtail boat into the extensive mangrove forests that end in the sea. We visit the shell divers in the estuary depending on the height of the tide. On this trip we pass the "floating monkeys". On the way you will see from the water and from land the traditional townhouses standing on stilts at the estuary to the sea. Experience the way of life of the locals who live on the river banks and manage their shrimp and shellfish farms, the houses are mostly open because of the heat and thus you can have a look inside.

Train Market

Then we go to a small traditional restaurant on the River and order Thai culinary seafood specialities, rice dishes or vegetables for you, depending on your wishes. If you can't eat fish or meat, you can have a menu of chicken, vegetables or fried rice prepared. After the delicious meal, we take the van to a small train station in the province. We board the train coming from Ban Laem and take the narrow gauge train to the "umbrellas back market" or also called Talad Room Hoob in Thai. Your tour guide will walk you through the market and explain one or two Thai specialities. You can try the fruits such as sour or sweet green mango, mangosteen or the lychee fruits grown regionally here.

Floating Market Amphawa

After the market visit, we drive to Amphawa and visit the floating market in Amphawa. It is one of the few truly authentic "floating markets" in Thailand. Directly at the Klong, fresh meals are prepared on the old boats. Here you can get grilled fish, called Phla in Thai language, in all variations and of course Pad Thai, fried noodles or Pat Pak, fried mixed vegetables. The attraction in this area are the fireflies, which the Thais call "Fireflys" and which sit and glow in the trees at night. If you like the " you can book this additionally and you will experience with us a beautiful night trip by longtail boat to the nearby areas. Afterwards, we show you the fabulous root-covered temple Wat Bang Kung from the Ayuttaya period, which is unique in this area.

Wat Bang Kung

The temple was built when King Taksin was fighting with his soldiers in Ayutthaya, with the area serving as a navy camp. The temple was the spiritual centre for the soldiers, in honour of King Taksin the place was redesigned and is now a popular destination for Thais who celebrate their faith there. Many Chinese are also seen here, as the camp was guarded by Chinese soldiers assembled from the provinces during the Ayutthaya period. The camp was called Bang Kung Chinese Camp. In the square you can see cast figures of Muay Thai boxers in various fighting positions. A very interesting place to see, as there are hardly any European tourists there. After this interesting tour, we drive back to Bangkok to the starting point of the tour.

Fireflies as an additional option

As an additional option, we offer you something unique to this area, it is the fireflies, which the Thais call "Firefies" and which sit and glow in large swarms in the trees at night. They are fireflies that send out light signals at night to communicate.
If you would like to experience the Fireflies, join us on a longtail boat trip at night to the nearby areas.

*For groups with people who have not booked the Firefies Tour, they will be driven back to Bangkok after the tour without a tour guide, the others will continue the tour.

            Special features

The tour itinerary and the individual sightseeing objects may possibly deviate due to weather or traffic conditions, airline departure times or closures of the sights. In this case, the decision to change the tour itinerary lies with the tour guide in charge, who will then determine an equivalent new destination, if necessary in consultation with the guests. The sequence of the programme points in the mangroves is subject to daily or seasonal tidal fluctuations (tides). For this reason, this must be considered flexible and is solely at the discretion of the local experts involved. Attention, in the rainy season it is not always possible to see the salt pans / salt mines at high tide. In the rainy season it is not always possible to plant mangroves because the water is too high. In the rainy season you don't see shell divers in the estuary. From inland to just before the mouth, you may see a few. As the train is sometimes cancelled for the whole day, we are forced to go directly to the market or the train is delayed for up to an hour, in which case the delivery station may change.

We look forward to your visit to Bangkok and we warmly welcome you.
